How to use Froo! Template Themes.

Below are the frequently asked questions on how to use the Seller Manager application - Froo! Our topics are updated regularly, and if you require further instruction on the use of Froo, you can also checkout our Online Instructions.

Can I have a different design on different listings?

Yes, Froo enables you to mix and match templates as much as you want. In fact why not try a different templates for different products.

Each time you wish to change your design, just go back to the design library.

What if I already have pre-designed templates in my listings?

Froo template theme's will still work although you will have to judge (using our preview feature) whether you're existing design combined with ours, looks acceptable.

However, it would be better if you removed the HTML from your listings and used unstyled descriptions.

How do I get my images into the zooming gallery?

If you have uploaded your images into the ebay gallery they will be automatically included in the zooming gallery, showing all your thumbnails automatically.

If your images are within the description, rather than loaded as an eBay image, these images will remain in the description area of the template theme.

What about image distortion?

Froo keeps the image ratio the same so your image thumbnails will not be squashed. If your images are on eBay's servers Froo automatically uses your eBay gallery thumbnails.

How do I decide what items to display in Cross Promotions?

You can set rules for product types and categories. You can set up to four items within the cross promotion. For more information see: http://pages.ebay.com/stores/cross-promotions/tutorial/index.html

No! you can easily apply different themes to each listing or you can apply the same theme to many listings.

When a limited design expires your design will revert back to how your standard listing looked before you applied a Froo template theme.

If the listing is revisable, you can apply any of the designs in the template library.

How do I turn off Cross Promo?

You can turn off the cross promo box when you list by select 'No' at step three of the Froo application. Rember, this will not change your live listings. If you wish to turn off cross promotion on a live listing that already has design applied to it, remove the design then reapply the design.

For more information please see item 3.1 in the step by step guide help section.

No items are displayed in my cross promo gallery.

Check that you have other live items. If you do have live items but they are not displaying then check eBay's Item Promotion Manager.

Go to My eBay > Marketing Tools > Item Promotion > Cross Promotion.

If you do not have any other items then you can turn off the cross promo gallery within Froo at step 3.

You are also unable to apply a template theme to an item that hass less than 12 hours remaining.

No, you must list your item before you apply a design, however you can apply a design to a schedued listing so it will launch with a design theme applied.

I've changed my seller info on a live listing but why hasn't it changed?

You can only change the seller info when you first apply the template theme. After this time it is considered a change in terms and conditions and is against eBay policy.

My logo isn't 310x90 pixels, will it still work with froo template themes?

Do logos have to be 310 x 90 pixels?

Each theme is designed to include a logo of 310 x 90 pixels, so for best results logos are restricted to this exact size.

This size matches eBay's store logo.

I want to apply a different design to a listing that I have already added a design to.

Thats fine, you can change your design on your listings as much as like, as long as the listing can still be revised.

Go to stage five of the Froo Seller manager App, remove the design from the listing you wish to update. Go back to step one and select a new design, now jump to step 5 and assign your new design to your listing.

I get an error message when starting the Froo! application

The status of your subscription may have changed, this could be because of a recent security issue on your account or you have revoked the third party authorisation for this application.

You can update your authorisation for this app by clicking on the 'Manage Applications' link above, then follow the onscreen instructions to update your authorisation.

What image file types can I use when I upload a logo?

You can use .gif .png .jpg .jpeg & .bmp

I have applied a design but it is not showing in my eBay store.

When you add or remove a froo template theme it actually revises the item.

At busy times eBay's servers can have a delay on updating your store (you may see this when you launch items and they don't immediately show in your store) it usually appears within the hour but it can take up to 24 hours.

The items will be displayed in eBay's listing search immediatly.

My Froo template is not displaying correctly after relisting using eBays sell similar option

It is possible to relist items using eBay's “Sell Similar” and “Relist” options and still keep your Froo template. However there are a few considerations you need to make while relisting.

If the item is radically different, it is best to relist the item without the Froo Template. This will be the case if your images or item description have changed. Once you have listed the item you will be able to reassign the Froo template within Selling Manager Applications.

To successfully relist or sell similar.

You are free to edit all aspects of the listing such as price, title, duration, listing format etc. However we do not recommend that you edit the description, unless you are experienced in HTML editing. If you do need to edit the description, we recommend that you only do so in “HTML” mode, as editing in “Standard” mode will cause the template to display incorrectly.

I've already relisted my item and now it's not displaying correctly

If you have already used “Relist” or “Sell Similar” and your Froo listing is no longer displaying correctly, you can fix this by using the Froo application in Selling Manager.

1. Click on stage 5 – Assign to Listing

2. Choose the listing that is not displaying correctly and click “remove”.

(If the listing is not showing as “assigned” you will need to assign the listing, and then follow the steps above).

I get the error: The item cannot be listed or modified. The title and/or description may contain improper words, or the listing or seller may be in violation of eBay policy.

eBay bans certain words and phrases, this can result in a listing being refused. eBay recently made a change to its policy regarding offline payments, you can no longer accept personal checks or money orders for listings on eBay and you listings can not contain any text stating you accept these payment methods.

Ensure that within your seller information tabs that you have not entered any reference to money orders, personal checks or made any claims about your status such as "top rated seller". If you have, you must remove this before amending any of your live listings.

Also ensure that the items you are trying to apply the design have more that 24 hours remaining before they expire, as you cannot revise an item that expires within 24 hours.

How do I unsubscribe from the application.

You can unsubscribe at anytime, go to My eBay, underneath the Applications tab will be an option to 'Manage Applications', select this option.

All the applications you are subscribed to will then be show, underneath the 'Start' button for each application is a drop down menu, where you will find the option to unsubscribe.

How do i change the font or font size in the seller info tabs

At step 4 - Seller Info. You can choose which font face, font size and and font style you would like to use within in your choosen template theme. You will see three drop downs at the bottom right of the page, where you can choose these three elements.

My first months payment is more than the advertised $3.95

The monthly subscription for Froo! Template Themes is $3.95, in the first month of your subscription eBay charges the subscriber a prorated first month plus one month in advance. The first month's fee is proated at the beginning of the subscription term based on the number of days subscribed and the daily rate for the current billing cycle.

eBay only charges subscriptions on two dates of the month, the 1st and the 16th of the month, depending on when you subscribed you will be charged your subscription on one of these two dates. To bring you in to line with these billing dates eBay will prorate you first month subscription by charging the extra days to bring you in to line with their billing dates.

Can templates be automatically applied everytime I list a new item?

Froo! Template themes has be made to apply design to your live listings, this way it doesn't matter which listing tool you use, you can still use this application to apply design.

Froo! Template Themes does not automatically apply design to new listings, but you can return to the application and with a few clicks you can have design on each of your new listings, this also gives you the advantage of being able to choose different designs each time you return to the app.

The images in the zooming gallery are not zooming.

The images contained within your listings will automatically be placed within the zooming gallery of the template theme, if you have multiple images thumbnails will be shown under the main image.

Images can only be zoomed if the original image is larger than main displaying thumbnail. If your original image is less than or equal to 200x200 pixels then this image can not be zoomed.

I get the eBay error: 21916884: Condition is required for this category.

When you apply design to one of your listings you are actually amending your listings and so any revisions must conform to ebays revision policy. From the 27th July 2010, new, revised, or relisted items will fail if they don't use the new way of specifying item conditions. (This requirement will not apply to good til cancelled listings).

You can easily add the item condition to you listings by revising in My eBay, and once the item condition is added you can revise (and apply design) to your live listings.

Here is a link to eBay's information regarding item conditions http://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformation/news/itemcondition.html

If you have many listings that need to be amended to included item condition, you can also use our bulk revision tool to achieve this. Details of this tool are at this link http://applications.ebay.com/selling?ViewEAppDetails&stab=1&mId=2000020&appType=1&appId=bulk.froo.com

I get eBay error 240 when trying to apply design.

When you apply design to your listings your are actually amending your listings, and with all revisions eBay will check the content of the revision to ensure that you are not violating their listing policy.

The error you are receiving is an eBay error, generated because some wording within your seller information section is in violation of eBay's listing policy. You should check and amend the seller information you have entered to confirm with eBay's listing policy, once your have done this you will be able to apply design to your listings.

Here is a link to eBay's listing policy. http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/selling-practices.html

Can I make a one time payment for my subscription

To make a one time payment, just log in to your eBay account on eBay.com, and go to My eBay. Then click the Account tab. From the drop down menu next to Account ID, select the Froo application you wish to make payment to.

Underneath payment methods there is a link to 'Make One Time Payment', follow this link to complete your payment.

My listings have disappeared after applying your design

When you amend a listing, by apply design or any revision,  eBay has a small delay while it re-indexes the information your have changed and puts it back on eBay. This is true of any revision and not just design.

Depending on eBay, this re-indexing, can take a few minutes to a few hours. During the re-indexing the item is still available on eBay and can be purchased by any buyer, but may not be available within a store view or search for a short time.

Kind regards
